“Thx Sandakan Hotspot really I spent a great time in amazing places, I cant forget Elephants in Kinabatangan River they are very cute specialy the small one who was drinking from the river :), crocodiles, lizards and orang utan, also the day in Mangroves Cruise and the fireflies there its very nice and the people very friendly, yes it was a nice holiday there. “The team were recommended by Sandakan tourist information centre and they did well and for RM4xx we signed up to a wicked place to stay in Kinabangtagan (or however you spell it!). I choose not to tripadvisor this place as it was a spontaneous choice and thought if I did I might regret it! However, when we arrived there we were greeted nicely and shown to a lovely queen sized bedroom with it's own balcony. Food was fantastic and especially good as we are vegetarians. The guide was great and we saw wild orangutans which was really rare!

“Let's face it, people come to Sandakan for the sanctuaries, wildlife and WWII tributes. The town itself has little to offer the Western traveller. Very grubby working town with the usual Asian extremes of rich and poor.

We had emailed our hotel who recommended this tour agency. Mr Lai, the owner, called us on the first morning of a three day stay and arranged to meet us at our hotel to agree our preference. Not cheap but we thought we may as well go for it and were not disappointed. We decided upon the day trip to Sepilok, the Rain Forest Discovery Centre and Labuk Bay.

The guide arrived on time in a small 8 seater minibus and the two of us were joined by a family of three and set off for the various locations.

I will review each experience separately but just to say here that we returned to the hotel later in the day with lifelong memories of a wonderful day. Unhurried, well organised and thoroughly worthwhile tour.”

“My husband and I were trying to organise our trip to Borneo (Sandakan) for our honeymoon this December/January. We had set places we wanted to visit - (Sellington Island, Sepilok, Lambok Kinabatangan River, etc) in a very short space of time (one week). We were finding it difficult to get responses from the various places etc - Crystal Quest! Then someone refereed us to Sandakan Hotspot who were just wonderful!. Mr Lai the manager helped us plan our trip based on what we wanted and then he booked everything for us at the same costs as if we booked directly with the different tours. Mr Lai was super efficient and responded to all our queries usually within 24hrs and he also gave us practical advice that would make things cheaper for us like bus times, price of a taxi trip from a to b. The list could go on forever but I will finish by saying that I would highly recommend Mr Lai if you are planning a trip to Sandakan as he was extremely helpful!”
